I recently saw an advert in a magazine for a device with allows the operation of the convertable roof on an SL Mercedes to be activated while the car is moving at approx. 20mph. Does anyone know if this item is available for a 1999 CLK 230 sport convertable? If so, where can i get one from?

I know that my own car needs to be on level ground before the boot will close.

Just think of the wind resistance of driving along with a open boot that is open from the rear and sticking up in the air.

As I remember roofs are not funny when they go wrong

I guess MB have a reason for limiting the speed at which the roof operates? They don't want to be repairing them when Joe Public descides to close it when it start raining on the M1

Just thought it might be nice not to have to pull over to a complete stop in slow moving traffic when it starts to rain. Which tends to happen too often in this country. Slow traffic and rain that is!

Many people behind are happy to stop and watch the roof go up, I do it at the traffic lights
