I am thinking about px myCLK coupe for a convertable.

Any one  with a soft top - whats it like living with a soft top in the winter ?

I do a lot of motorway driving - whats the noise levels like also any vibrations??

Does any third party do a detachable hard top ?

Thanks

CLK Convertables

I've owned both, a coupe then cab. There is a company in Germany that does a hard top I think, but its not great looking, but in any case the cab is so good you don't even realise its a soft top when you have the roof up. Hard top really not needed at all. Boot is still quite good too.

Don't buy one without Partronic though - a must as the rear view is obviously not as good as a coupe.

Mine had AMGs too - also recommended. It wasn't as stiff as the coupe but was more fun to drive as my coupe had the optional 6 spoke wheels, but not the full fat AMG wheels and lowered suspension.

Are you buying new/used? If used, buy soon, as prices go up 1-2k from Feb/March, and don't come down til late Sept.

We have the convertable, and live near Chicago, IL. It gets down to -20 F around here, and the car is comfortable in the winter. It isn't noisy.

"Blind spot" area is large, but easy to fix with the addition of small parabolic stick on mirrors that are available for about $3.00 (US) per set. Put one on each outside mirror, and you can see everything.

(Good idea for the S series also).

In Europe we have aspherically curved mirrors which help, you can use those little self-adhesive blind-spot mirrors but they're kinda ugly IMHO (although less ugly than busted up bumpers!).[/url]

Hi

With regards to hardtops for the CLK, E Class and various other models of car which I cant mention on this website, hardtops are available within the UK and I can supply one if you wish.

For a CLK roof you can have one with a velour or leather finish internally and in a colour of choice including fitting kit from £2500 and yes that will also include UK VAT

Let me know if you want any more info

Cheers
