CLK Convertible Door Rattle - Is there a cure?

I can't take it any longer, I thought I could put up with it but I can't. The drivers door on my CLK rattles when I go over bumps and potholes and as the roads are never going to get any better down here, I need to cure it. The rattle seems to come from the handle/lock area of the door and is worse with the roof down. Is it easy to remove the door panel and check out whats behind it? Does anyone know if I need any special tools to get the panel off without messing it up?
Hoping someone has done something similar.

First thing to check before you take the door panel off.

Under the bottom of the door there is some rubber grommets pull them out there is four i think.

Under two of them there is the nuts that secure the window runners. See if these have come lose they are very prone to
