CLK door rattle.

Hello all

A trivial problem in the whole scheme of things, but annoying ......

I have a CLK 230K (W208) and there is a rattle coming from the drivers door which seems to be coming from somewhere around the area of the interior chrome release handle/electric seat adjustment button. The handle and button themselves are not 'loose' at all, the rattle sounds as if it is behind the black leather trim panel in that general area.

Is it a simple task to ease off the interior leather trim panels so that I can have a look to see what may be loose behind them? I am a very reluctant to start pulling blindly at the panels to release them in fear of damaging any fixture points, and also do I have to be cautious because of the SRS door system?

It is pretty simple (I've removed the panels of a W202 and W210)

FWIW. I had a rattle that sounded like it was in the same position that you describe but it turned out to be behind the dash and the sound was "travelling".

Thanks for the reply. Had a go this morning and it was not as bad a job as I first thought, found an M6 threaded bolt which had worked free (holding the window motor I think?) and gave it a quick tighten up. Seems to of done the trick.
