Hi folks

I have a 2001 CLK 230K Avantgarde and it has the half electric front seats....electric forward and back and tilt.

Today I got it back from the garage I go to having had a scratch repaired. The guy that delivered the car back to my work has moved the seat forward and now it wont go back beyond the position he has set it to.

The motor is obviously working as I can move it forward and then back again but it stops at the point that the guy left it at. I've had a look under the seat and cant see any reason why it is stopping.

The scratch was on the bootlid so I cant see any reason why the battery would have been disconnected.

It's going back tomorrow for them to take a look at it (they're a garage and bodyshop) but I would appreciate any advice in the meantime.

Many thanks, Darren

Hi Darren,
It might need the motor hall sensors re syncing. this can be moving for one extreme to the other forward then back, or on a star machine.

So as on a CLK Ellsy, where the motor can lose count of the revoloutions

Thanks for the advice guys....thankfully I appear to have fixed it.

I read a few other posts on the forum and they all mentioned the fuses in the boot. I figured the motor was definitely ok as I could move it forwards and back to the original position.

Anyhow...I pulled out the appropriate fuse and popped it back in again (fuse was ok) and the seat is working again!

Phew....though I was in line for a sore bill with this one! :D
