CLK exaust rattle

Our clk 230 conv. has an intermittent rattle that seems to be coming from the underneath of the car towards the back passenger side. It only happens on very rough surfaces and we can go for weeks with no noise. I have checked the exaust mountings and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong. Could it be a loose baffle in the exhaust? It is a very metally hollow sound I think !! Any ideas would be appreciated

The chances are its one of the ceramic cats tha has come lose, they often rattle more at low speed and pulling.
