CLK Key Fob Won't Lock/Unlock Doors

I have a 2000 CLK that has developed locking/unlocking issues. The key starts the car just fine but neither of my keys will lock or unlock the car. The internal console mounted boot lock has also failed. My mechanic thinks this is all due to the locking vacuum pump in the boot needing adjusting, the problem is the mechanical key (which does work on the door) doesn't want to work on the boot! If someone can help either with reprogramming or any suggestions it would be very much appreciated. Thanks

The RF and IR on your key does not use the same components for the ignition.

Hold the key in front of a digital camera and you should see the IR beam when a button is pressed

Thanks. Are you saying the IR is working for the ignition but the RF is not working for doors etc?

As SAM the RF is for long range locking, the IR on the key when locking (close range) uses the internal batteries, when the key is in the ignition, it is powered from the car, and uses a different circuit to start the car

Thanks. Any ideas how to reprogram the fob to work on doors and boot OR any ideas how to open the boot as neither the key fob or the mech key will work? Mech key works on doors but won't go all the way into the boot lock.

Thanks

Soak the lock in WD40 for the next few days and keep working the blade key, it will free off over time!

You must check the remote in front of the camera to see if a beam is being sent out

PTFE sprayed into the lock will free it off, it will take a little time but it will go
