clk key...

hi all,

The key for my clk is not working, theres no light or signal coming out from it. I've seen a few key fob for sale on ebay, if i get 1 and change the electric bit over, would that work? any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hi Malcolm,

The key starts the car fine.. but there's no signal! i took it for a check!
So if i keep the key and just change the electric bit it won't work?

The batteries are brand new and I did check that..
Anything else I can try? thanks for your help!!

You could try taking the key apart, the link below is for a different key but may give you confidence in opening yours.
Inspect closely with a magnifying glass for signs of bad solder joint and try operating the fob out of its shell, you never knows what you might find.

Thanks for your suggestions Dec, I did manage to get the electric bit out of my fob, it's easier with my key.. But I'm a complete novice and have no idea what I'm looking at.. ;)
