Hi all,

I've just brought my first mercedes (CLK 2001 model) ......so it's good to be in "the" club!

I have one problem, which I hope somebody can help me with. The rear number plate bulb has blown. The manual informs me to take it to the dealer, but my wallet is telling me not to!

There are 3 fixings holding the plastic light cluster in place (2 bolts & one rivet). It looks as if I need to drill the rivet out to get to the bulbs.

Is there an easier way? can I get to them from inside the boot?

Any instructions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Byrney

number plate bulbs

Hi Byrney the easiest way is to open the boot, remove the warning triangle and detatch the black bootlid trim on the inside, then you will gain access to the number plate bulbs then you can pull out the bulbs..
