clk querey

Hi - wonder if anyone can help me. I am thinking of buying a clk230 cabriolet, but my budget is steering me towards a 1999/2000 model. I hear this was a bit of a bad time for manufacturing and would rather avoid unpleasent bills down the line. Can anyone give me the benifit of their experience? Also wondering if this model has the impact roll bars.

The rear head rests act as the active roll bar.

Th clk (208) was generally unaffected by the poor quality issues as the design is quite early (1997 onwards)

Just watch out for rust, suspension knocking and make sure the roof works without fault as these can be expensive to fix.

Must have a good history and be HPI clear.
