HI, the roof on my w208 soft top stopped working. after a bit of investigation I unearthed the hyd`elec pump. testing the motor I found it to be open circuit. After stripping it I found the brush ring completely melted, no chance of repairing it, pump unit turns freely, just need the motor, Its a powerpacker motor with 9938DB marked on it. Anyone any ideas? can`t buy direct, they will only sell to the OEM`s.
Also the engine`s a bit lumpy/missy on start up but runs fine after a minute or two.(2.3k) thanks .

Or an indie would be a good start.

It upsets me when I could fix a fault if I could only get the parts

Could be a number of smaller things.. plugs for example

Has the car done over 90,000 miles or there abouts
I had similar symptoms. Could be a MAF issue. Check for oil on the MAF and air the intake pipework after the filter. If oil is there then, rather than just clean the MAF, you may need to look at replacing the lower part engine breather pipework on the right side of the engine under the inlet manifold.
Also you would need to remove the inlet manifold to clean out (or replace) the two brass nozzles the the breather pipes terminate into.
Even if this is not the cause of the initial low speed misfire you are experiencing, I feel now (having been there with my car) that it's something that you should do with higher mileage CLK230K's anyway.
Parts aren't expensive, labour is even cheaper if you do it yourself.
If oil is present the MAF might be OK if you clean it after you sort out the breather issue.
