Hi all

I have a 2001 CLK 230 (W208) and want to change the standard front grille for something more sporty.

Any ideas where I'd get one from? Also, would a grille from a same year C Class fit a CLK?

Cheers

I bought a grille off ebay a few months back and replaced the bonnet star with a Lorinser blanking badge also from ebay.

Yep, added the chrome headlight rings too. Makes a huge difference overall!

The grill is 6-8 bolts same as the old one. Bonnet badge comes off easily.
The light surrounds stick on I believe.

Yep, the light surrounds just stick on - although the 'chrome' effect has started to weather after just a relatively short period of time. They still gleam when they're polished though.

The grille was relatively easy to fit too. I'm no professional, but I did it in around 20 minutes. If I remember back, I think there they may have been a 'how to' article on this site that I used as a guide.

I'm just waiting for the chrome light surrounds to come in the post, ordered them from Tiawan @ GBP £20 including postage - original price was GBP £45 with postage but they were doing a half price special and I was cheeky and asked for a 'special price' !!! (Always worth a punt)
So, depending on the quality I might then go for a grille too - if the price is right !?

Thanks for the information. I ordered one from the same place last week and it was delivered next day. It looks superb and is so easy to fit AND more importantly they use genuine MB parts not the cheap asian fakes you find on E-bay.
