Hi Folks, I have just acquired a gorgeous CLK 200 Elegance and the only problem is that the front seats squeak. It could be something rubbing I guess but I thought I'd mention it in case somebody else has come across the same thing. Before I rip them out and start investigating I hoped there might be a simple fix!?!

Get a specialist to pop the seat backs off and spray in some PTF - worked for both my C43's

Excellent it's not just mine.

Hi everyone im new been watching what goes on for a while and thought it may have been a bit silly to ask about my squeaky seats?

Ive got the same car!! that's sad getting excited about haveing the same car isn't it!! sorry....

Are yours electric? thats what worries me i didn't want so start fiddling and burn anything out.

You probably wont here from me much (im shy) but just wanted to say a big THANKS!! to everyone.

Bought my car 4-5wks ago and so far sorted all the little teathing problems, barr squeaky seats and a light defective? (Think it may be a dash light under fuel gauge, i'll have a look when i stop driving it).

Sorry waffling!!

SO! if you get any replies on the seats i too would be very greatfull of the advice.

Hi Big Gav see my response above - I had some work done on my (leccie) seats and the garage sprayed them internally with some sort of silicone of PTF spray.

Job done

(drove me nuts too, really spoils the impression of quality)

As my seat base was sprung, my quick fix was removing the seat base, and launching the two springs. No movement = no squeek.
No less comfort either.
