CLK Temp outside air temp Indication

Hello all, after washing my engine bay, I noticed that my outside air temperature display on my dashboard has been corrupted. What I mean to say is that insted of , say 10.0 C, it now reads with most part of the digits missing. Can anyone let me know of a quick fix and where the rouge sensor is located.

Your fault young man lies within the instrument cluster where the ribbon cables make a poor connection,, if you are reasonable in doing any electronic dissembling, then you can do it your self, its a cluster out job and there are firms like speedofixer who repair them

Hi,
The Temp. sender is located on the passenger side front clipped to the inside of the bumper, normally on a small piece of removeable grill.

As Malcolm says, leave the sender alone - its the cluster. You're clock and gear display won't be far behind. Sadly, a VERY common fault.

Thanks, but strange why it happened after washing the engine?? No water got inside, or behind the dash.

Could be an air temp thing if you had the doors open, if it was the sensor it would read 185C clearly all the time
