Hi all, i have an error code and have decided it is the gear selector. I have a few videos to remove it but i'm a little stuck now as the videos do not show the model with rear blowers. Can anyone point me in the right direction please ? I have got it partially dismantled but it seems pretty solid so im guessing there are hidden bolts down where the fans are ?

Which pieces exactly are you stuck at? Uploading a photo would help.

I could probably remove a CLK dash blindfolded at this point!

Thanks for the reply. I have undone the torx up towards front of the car and half turned the larger torx on the left and right of the console but it's still firm. i have also removed the bolts on gear lever assembly that i'm going to replace. I'm guessing there is a need to remove the rear blowers that live in the bottom of the deep armrest to access a bolt or two ?

Hi there should 2 screws behind where the ashtray goes, 2 bolts behind the shifter and the 2 round screws that secure the prongs. Check no wires caught etc and it should pop out easily!

There might be 2 more screws hidden under the carpet inside the cubby box but I might be confusing with another car!

Thanks, the photo is the inside of the armrest box....it is filled with a fan for the rear seat heaters,....The console is solid with the torx and bolts removed so there must be other fixings under the fan assembly. I will take it off in the morning

Update....There was two bolts under the fan assembly, the centre console slid out one they were removed. Auto gear shift selector fitted and so far so good, well the car starts now and goes into gear ( which it didn't prior ) so that's progress :) Hopefully those error codes have cleared.
