CLK w209 fact fit ipod kit

Have just picked a New CLK (facelift 209).
Plugged the ipod in the glovebox and selected CDC and the ipod appeared, then it played and now it just says error. Have reset the ipod as per the MB manual but no joy, can anyone help?
