Sorted i, a lot simpler than i thought was going to be, the cable end had just come off the handle. removed handle and surround off seat and manipulated back in to place with two screwdrivers.

Malcolm, I'd love that information too! PM on the way.

Hi, new here and could do with some advice. my CLK W209 passenger seat tilt cable has broken (one of the Bowden cable strands has snapped at the latch) - anyway, ordered the part (number A2099100174 - from the USA!!!) and could do with finding the fitting instructions.

Could anyone assist?

Kind Regards
Mark

I have indeed- I thought this might be a common fault, the cable snapping that is. But, it appears not.

There’s a few on the W208 but the latch appears different (easier) to access. It looks like a strip down of the upholstery to get the new part in.

The drivers side looks like it’s about to go pop also. That’s all frayed on one wire also.

You can see both the wires. One to each leg, when you lift the latch.

Part arrived and fitted. A little fiddly but installed in 20mins with no need to remove the seat

Hopefully you’ll see a Couple of photos of the afending part and the new one.

Many thanks- I’m going to do the other side next.

Anyone had any dealings with euromerc? They ‘apparently’ have the part but when I googled them they seem to have a really bad reputation. So, I was going to order it from the USA again

Thanks, will report back (with success hopefully). I remember taking it apart once, it all worked as it should with the rear cover off & was back to usual non working mode with the cover on..
Hi,
Do you have the information on adjusting the seat-back fold cable?
Thanks, John

Hi all, I know this is a very old post, but keeping my hopes high...

Does anyone still have the cable fitment / adjustment instructions?
Also, are the cables handed or both right and left seat take the same?

Thanks in advance!
