Hi - I'm looking for help locating the drains on my 1999 230 CLK sport convertable. I have managed to find & clear the drain on the n/s - but am unable to find the drain on the o/s. I have no technical knowledge whatsoever - so would apprieciate any replies in lay-man's (or womans!) terms.
Many thanks - I look forward to your replies.
PS - This is to hopefully clear problem with water in passenger footwell behind drivers seat.

If you're talking about the front bulkhead /heater drain, there is only one fitted, so you should be OK now.

The whole NSF carpet comes out very easily. Remove the NSF plastic sill trim- just pull up. Remove the lower A pillar trim- prize out small oval screw covering trim first. The carpet will than come out. Have a good look at the wiring in the plastic sill channels. There is a main CAN bus joining area or "disributor", it is critical that this is clean & dry. It is identified by brown & brown/red wires- looks like speaker wires. If there is any signs of corrosion, replace the joiner ( the bit about 3" long ).

Just had the same problem with my CLK 320.

Can anyone be specific as where the drain is located?

I assume it is under the drain channel behind the bulkhead but there is not much room in there to feel anything. Not knowing the exact position is always a problem when you cannot see it.

Open bonnet fully (catches on the hinges both sides). Stand by the NSF hinge & look down below the hinge at the black plastic bulkhead trim which runs along the bottom of the screen. If you feel down in the corner nearest to you, you should be able to feel a flap. Open it & clean it out with your fingers...Yuk! Pour some water down the vents by the wiper afterwards to flush it out.
