Could you please tell me what size the standard wheels are on a 2004/2005 CLK?

I have seen a 05 with 18" alloys. Would this size be classed as a modifcation to the car? What should I be aware of re non-standard size wheels?

The 270 CDI Advantgarde has 44,000 miles and 7 months manufacturer warranty left, it is advertised for £19,999 (non MB dealership). How much should I be looking at paying for this car?

Hello,

For insurance reasons I would tell them after market, main differences with larger wheels

Harder Ride
Tram lining (if tyres also wider)
More road noise
You end up parking miles away from kerb so not to damage them
More exspensive to buy (although you get to know where the deals are)

BUT...

In my book bigger wheels just make the car, I don't like small alloys and don't do many miles so would rather have looks over comfort.

I had 19" on a bmw convertible and they were fine, I'm even looking for bigger wheels on my ML as think they look too small although I don't miss having to watch the kerbs when parking :)

I understand standard wheels would be 7" front and 8" rear both 17" diameter. I think if "sport" package was ordered - both these widths increase by half an inch.
If I'm wrong, no doubt someone'll jump in sharpish and correct me!!!

As Doug said, here are typical 17" alloys for a 209 CLK

17" CLK Alloys

7.5x17 front, 8.5x17 rear.

Have them on my E320 and they drive fine.
