happy newyear to everyone just joined this great website and hope someone could put me in the right direction.have read a few posts but not sure which one really applies.driving the car and the the alarm went off?parked up restarted the engine everythink fine.then hour later just kept going off so pulled off the lead to the siren i think!alarm stopped but the car locked down as i have battery back-up.manually opened drivers door but realised remote not working for alarm and passenger door only manually and boot wont open even with boot release inside or key.tried silcone as suggested not having it.car still drives no problems there, but not sure if i need to have the alarm recoded?i did manage to get in boot via the roof coming down to change a bulb but stupid me forgot to put the plastic casing back on now cant get it back down till open boot.been to 2 electric garages no help cant solve it,any suggestions before i go to merc as like to know if it could be siren?or control unit, orwiring, or vacum pump,or door problem?sorry forgot to mention my drivers side door has slightly droped needs re-alining would that throw the alarm and cause the shut down? maiden in distress need merc knight please

Hello and welcome to the MB forum,,yes if the door has dropped then any wind would set off the alarm. The boot will open though they key maybe stiff.

Its possible that a pipe has come off the locking for the boot, or has split

The alarm on the clk cab was fitted afterwards, in the dealer. fitted many myself.
I think your alarm siren will be faulty if it's going off on its own, if you have removed it and now your locking etc is not working, reconnect see what happens, most common cause is water in the siren.

but there is a fuce located in the os of the boot behind the trim, check this fuse.

When the key has never been used they can stick,, it will unlock if you persevere, they all open in the end

With the key, to open it, remove the metal key and us it to push the spring loaded block just below the opening for the key to the side, and lift the battery carrier out
