CLK320 Cabriolet 1999 Model Oil Change Prob

Hi Guys
I done oil change on the weekend. but now when i drive the for 20mins i get a message on the display saying oil level to high.. does anyone know why this is?????
i can't even use the car because i m worried somthing else could happen to it..

Help Please....!!!!!!!!!!

Rather an obvious question really, but, have you put too much oil in?....check the level with the dipstick.

CLK320 Oil change

on the dipstick the levels just below the maximum mark...after 20 mins i get the message..!!

The dipstick is 100% reliable (assuming the correct dipstick is fitted),when you use the dipstick just make sure the car is on level ground and stood for about five minutes, if the engine has been running, before you dip.

I would suspect a faulty sensor regarding the hi level warning but this should not stop you from driving the car.

Another obvious question... is the dipstick being pushed fully home, if not it may be overfilled and after 20 mins higher temp is enough to bring alarm up!
