Well after hitting a crater on the M1 (fyi northbound right by J23 Coalville in lane 2 ) my passenger mirror broke.

Can I get new mirror glass or do I need the whole mirror assembly? Any links to good quality aftermarket or original parts that you guys may know of?

Is it a diy job to change or has it been engineered to go to a mechanic for a trivial job?

DIY easy enough, I had a Peasant fly up on the M1 and caught my drivers door mirror - new glass from MB Grangemouth was reasonable (mines only heated)

I used to use MB Grangemouth following recommendations but, now they don’t take payment over the phone and iirc they asked if I have PayPal, which I don’t so mail ordering from them is not possible for me sadly.

I had a look on EuroCarParts as they used to have a body section but they seem to have removed that. I’m not the biggest fan of eBay but saw several replacement glass sellers with decent reviews so will have a look in more detail again today.

Try MB Newcastle instead - you can contact them on eBay and they make an item for you

Original MB mirrors are quite expensive, luckily passenger side is not dimming so its quarter of drivers side price. So only heated mirror are cheap on ebay, and pretty easy job, see youtube videos.

Thanks for this I don’t know why the thought of YouTube failed me me. On some cars you can flip the glass out but I’d not be surprised if you have have to tear the whole thing apart.

Bite the bullet and get original.
Wont be much aftermarket with such a niche car.
IMHO
I think on your model is a retaining spring clip in top corner of housing to release housing.

So I ordered a genuine and the following from
EBay : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/29336141...qkrh_07see&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

The eBay one arrived yesterday and I just fitted it. The two wires are in different places compared to the original but all seems to work as it should. The genuine one is still in transit.

Fitting was easy, just position the mirror to the inner bottom left, push in on the same bottom corner, tease it out just unclipping as you go around.
