Morning All

Brand new Merc driver, been tempted away from BMW after many years, as Merc offered what I was looking for in the CLS ( no 4 door coupe from BMW) and I am very pleased to say that I am very very happy with the car :p. It ticks all the right boxes. Can anyone give me a rough idea of service intervalls and costs for this car? Also I have heard a number of people having their diesels chipped, is this worth the effort in terms of return for buck? And is it an invisible upgrade along the lines of having the ECU remapped etc?

Many Thanks

Service intervals are between 9,500 miles and 17k depending on how the computer assesses your driving. MB are looking at returning to fixed servicing though. Costs depend on which service as there are many but roughly £250-£500 a pop at the dealer and a bit less from an indie.
Chip wise, Yes, the improvements are noticable. The cost vaires from the MB approved Brabus kit £1500 ish) to something plugged in bought from ebay (£300). All good but do tell your insurance co as they are looking for these now as an excuse to refuse a payout. That said, the 320cdi is pretty quick anyway.
