All is not well in G Wagen land.

After having the car for nearly 2 months I have noticed that the steering has been even worse than ever, I can feel vibrations through the steering wheel as well as a groaning noise steering at low speeds. Also when I go over large bumps a rattle coming from underneith.

I took it to my local garage and they go it up on the lift, called me up and asked me to nip over so I could see whats happening myself. It turns out that the steering box is p!ssing out liquid, the low pressure PAS pipe has also chaffed on the frame and that both front hubs are leaking (one alot!). Also, the rattling noise is coming from the drivers side exhaust hitting the roll bar.

I dropped it off yesterday (250 mile round trip ) at the dealership I bought it from who are going to fix it, in the meanwhile they have given me a 318d which I must say is actually a fairly decent car - bland & rep-spec but 52.2mpg and it feels fairly nippy?!?

Swapped over the questionable Steering Wheel for a standard black one off a W209 CLK. Its not perfect but I managed to get it (Including Airbag!) for only £30 delivered:
