I need to change my rear pads on the 320, and have discovered the calipers are mounted via 2 torx/star bolts

Could someone please tell me what I need to buy, type and size, to remove?

Is the handbrake adjuster at the 11 o'clock position?

Many thanks

Are you sure they are star or torx fitting? If you talking about the two slide posts within the rubber mounts that attach the calliper to the calliper carrier I just changed the pads on my 2010 ML and they are both front and rear Allen headed (although the fronts were an obscure 9mm size and the rear the more normal 8mm  , go figure? ).

It's odd that they would change the type between models, then again it's MB we are talking about :D

You need a T40 male torx from memory Paul for the bolts, the adjuster for the handbrake is about 10 on the n/s and 2 on the o/s.....

If you are only changing the pads, then you do not go near the parking brake unless you just want to set it up while you are at it

The parking brake is not working to the point that it will move at tickover with the brake FULLY applied :(
I will adjust and check, and if the problem persists, I have new shoes from ECP and check the cabling on a ramp.

As an aside, I also noted that the wear indicator had been triggered by the sensor loom not being put back into its proper bracket and therefore was being eroded by the drive shaft!!
I cut, soldered and heat shrunk the worn portion.
The rear brakes were replaced by a MB main dealer as I have looked through the comprehensive history I received when I bought it.
Not good at all

I am not sure if the parking brake cable is auto adjust or what, it needs to be backed off or you cannot set the adjusters on the wheels.

I will take a read on the process and post back
