Steamed up but not in a good way. just been through heavy rain. Cool day windows streamed up, made worse by a new pair of Bosch windscreen wipers costing around thirty pounds which only touch the screen where they want, which is not in front of the driving position. Only thing would move the misting is of course the aircon set to screen. Not great on a cold day. Is there a solution to this, or is it something to have to learn to live with?

Use the AC as it dries the air. Check that none of your scuttle drains at the bottom of the windscreen are blocked and check that your carpets and footwells aren't damp from water getting in through the heater because of blocked drains.

and to add to what BC has said , replace your cabin filters too ! ive known blocked ones cause a steamy window problem that Tina Turner would be proud of

Also had it on my Omega when the vents in the boot area (behind the bumper) were blocked with general 'stuff' ie there was no air flow through the car

Everything dry and filters replaced by Mercedes. Last time I had a problem like this was with a Stag years ago.

They might service it but they don’t often clear leaves and detritus from the water drains...

cars should have permanent air flow out of all vents regardless of what the people inside want - better - safer - quieter.

min of 20% should hit the screen for safety... in the summer to help to combat heat soak by cooling the screen and in the winter to reduce the likelihood of misted windows...

20% screen
10% side demist
25% face vents (to cool arms in the summer / warm hands in the winter)
25% floor to cool / warm feet and to combat heat from the engine / exhaust
20% rear

proper old cars allowed you to do this, then some moron invented a rotary knob that on 70% of the cars made entirely stops you having air out of the three essential locations at once....

If serviced by a Mercedes main dealership they better had do as they charge for it.
