clunky sprintshift

when slowing down and changing from 4th to 3rd i can hear / feel a clunk, all the other gears are real smooth, any ideas?
It's not effecting driving Yet!

Just a quick update on my clunky sprintshift, it is when slowing down drom 3rd to 2nd that you hear and feel the gear change, i've tried different methods of slowing down (fast slow, early manual changes) but it still does it. The other gears are as smooth as silk, could it be the oil maybe? It has a fsh tho

Could be worth an oil and filter change!

more thoughts about my clunky sprinshift. It only happens when changing down from 3rd to 2nd, it's like someone hitting the gearbox with a mallet!
I guess the ecu disengages the clutch THEN does the gearchange, maybe things have worn slightly and gotten out of tolerance and it is doing the gearchange and clutch at the same time?
I wonder if it can be checked out / adjusted??

Steptronic clunk

HI, I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS YOU - I HAVE THE 03 SPRINTER 316CDI WITH THE 6SPEED STEPTRONIC AND IT CLUNKS FROM 2-3 AND 3-4.

DID YOU FIND OUT WHAT THIS WAS - I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND OUT FOR MONTHS WITH NO LUCK !
