Finished work a bit early so decided to try to repair the temp gauge and clock on my car. Process took under an hour using the DIY on here. I now have temp gauge but the clock has not changed. Anybody shed any light? For those in the know I cleaned off the terminals and inserted a rubber band....

Mmm - just whipped it out again. This doesn't look so easy Malcolm... Presume this is a case of splitting the gauges? Why are you banned from the other side BTW?

No do not go there, you have answered that one, I would re do the clock one again if you have it all out, we have never had a clock failure as far as I can recall .

Why was I banned is a tin of worms, so basically through being too honest, and posting too much, I know that many still miss me,as it all comes back through the grapevine.

I do hope that you get the clock working after all this:D

Success!!! What a great feeling:D In the end I made two wedges from my ice scraper to hold the white plastic prongs into the circuit board, superglued the elastic band to the pink strip and cleaned ribbon and bandwith contact cleaner. I now have all pixels working.

Things too remember:

Don't stick your fingers together with superglue.
You will need your radio code if you disconnect battery
as well as re setting windows and on my car
reset BAS abs by turning wheel full to both locks

I have pics of wedges if anyone needs them
