M50 = 5l engine.
N65 could this be 7 speed gearbox ?
N99 could this be tiptronic ?
388 ?
427 ?

Maybe they would be on a new price list.

I'm not sure what age of car you are looking at as I believe that codes can change over time.

However, on the current SL-Class price list 427 is the 7G-Tronic gearbox and 388 is the siemens mobile phone with hands free facility.

Hello, I am going ahead with an 06 2004 car, no distronic or comfort seats but everything else, including the 7 speed, and very low miles. I have paid less than most people are selling their 02,02 cars and still have the remainder of the warrantee.

Sadly Keith the prices asked are not in line with Glasses guide, at the moment there are around 225 for sale in the UK, I estimate from my monitoring that about 3-5 are selling each week, many dealers have had them from March and are still asking the same money now. the biggest fall in Glasses was this month with the new numbers,but the prices asked have not gone down, nothing much happened with the intro of the new model in July. Many dealers are asking 3k more than I paid for a 2002 02 car, many are basic with not one extra. the one that I bought has an A1 trade in price of £39k, the guy selling was only offered 33k in PX. there is also the huge gap between the old 129 and the 230 and they are still £12k apart. we shall see what happens. I would have started going to prestige auctions, but that is hard work as you cant get the spec till you see it.

I have found that the 427 codes is the 7 speed gearbox, so that leaves N65 and N99
