Hi All,

Happy new year!

Right now to business! My 300CE (W124)had a cold starting problem for very long time, it took a fair bit of time to start each and every morning.....which didnt help, as im always in a rush to get to work (probably should set my alarm 5 mins early!) but this problem had me scratching my head for ages!

Last week, i read on the foum that the problem could be directed at the fuel relay.....and that cleaning the points may help....so i gave it a go, kowing that this would not cost me anything (which makes a change!)

And as luck would have it.....it starts immediatley...doesnt even crank twice...one turn of the engine and it fires up! makes my brothers Lexus look slow and whinny! also it feels as though the car has more power! So once again, a big big thumbs up to the forum!!!

Thanks guy/gals!

Just thought id post this incase it may help others!

Unfortunatley not, but its quite simple....the relay on the W124 models is located just behind the ECU which is located in turn behind the battery.
Its a small black boc wound the size of a pck of cigs! just pull out, and clean the points (WD40 worked well along with a terry cloth!) and thats it.
