- Sprinter 310/2012/2143cc
Hi all, new on here and know nowt about owt to do with sprinters. I've got a 2012 310 sprinter with starting problems when really cold. It starts fine when it's minus 2 but when it's - 6/7 just doesn't want to know and chucks a lot of black smoke out the exhaust. I've had EML on and Just after new year had a mechanic plug it in and it came up with air intake temp sensor fault, MAF sensor fault, MAP fault, changed air intake sensor and it worked fine till this weeks - 6/7 temps but starts when temps get up near 0. I've been draping dust sheets over and around the engine wh en I've done for the day to keep it as warm as possible and it starts OK next morning so 2/3 degrees difference in temps is obviously making a difference. I'm thinking MAFsensor possibly? Will cleaning it make a difference? Anybody else had this problem?
