I will try that thanksGive the sensors a good clean at the front of the car - this can happen with a build up of salt spray in the winter and bugs in the summer.
Unfortunately that didn't work but I don't fancy taking it to Mercedes Chesterfield.Give the sensors a good clean at the front of the car - this can happen with a build up of salt spray in the winter and bugs in the summer.

It says to leave the car ticking over for 30 minutes to charge up the battery to reset it but it gets run more than that every day so would it be low voltage on the battery?

Is it one of those things that just needs plugging into the computer to reset it?I've had the error twice now on my new e350 . I did test the battery the other day it read 11.7 v . I've given it a full charge so I'll see how it goes. Power hungry cars these so maybe just a gripe.
Sorry I'm as thick as a brick with technology so do you mean reset it by fiddling with the buttons on the steering wheel?I just enable it again in the settings . Then it works properly. Its only ever done it when I first turn on the ign.
If it becomes problematic ill turn it off and leave it off .
Futher reading suggests possible software updates required, corrosion in sensors or wiring, faulty radar sensor £700.
Also found this.
For example, if you turn off the engine but keep the ignition on while parked. Once you restart the car, you may be greeted with Collision Prevention Assist Plus Inoperative error message. Keep the vehicle running at idle or driving for about 30 minutes should charge the battery and reset this warning.
I listen to the radio on my break at work. So the voltage drop could be triggering this for me. When I'm driving it never appears.
The car is September 2016 and as far as I know it's not had a battery I had it at 2 years old.If your concerned about the batterY test it with a voltmeter. Easiest thing to do.
how old is the battery and when was it last changed.
