Comand 2.5 Firmware Update

I beleive the latest firmware update for my COMAND 2.5 is MY02 ? Looking at the link below for MY01, I dont even have this update, as there is no MB star or DX logo on screen.

What will the MYO2 give me apart from the MB star and DX logo?
I seem to have predictive text in the address menu. Also can I update it myself as MB are liable to say no since its a retrofit, and probably wont take any responsibility if it screws up the unit :smile:

Sorry for posting to quite an old thread - but I too am after the COMAND 2.5 update disc / ISO for my 2002 CL500 (W215).

Does anyone still have a copy / access to a copy of this by chance?

I have the official Mercedes disk for this. Can't sell it but you are welcome to pop over and use the disk.

Unfortunately Surrey is quite a drive from Melbourne

Is there any chance I could get you to copy the CD to an ISO or DMG on your computer and upload it to Dropbox or similar?

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply, I’m very new to the world of Mercs (mainly had BMWs in the past) so just getting my toes wet!

Eeek, yes that is rather a trek.

I cant copy the disk i'm afraid as it is illegal to do that and as an authorised reseller of Mercedes parts, I would be in breach of that.

The part number of the disk is W230 589 00 22 Pop along to your local Mercedes dealer and see if they have one or know someone who does?

Ah damn, understood, I would have thought after 15+ years they wouldn't be bothered as it's not under warranty or anything.

Unfortunately Mercedes in Australia / Melbourne is horrendously expensive or even the most simple parts so I'm forced to search online for my needs, thanks for the part number though - I'll have a hunt online, by any chance do you know if the W230 at the start of the number relates only to W230 Mercs (as mine is a W215)?

BTW an example of insane costs here, Melbourne Mercedes charges $1150 for a new key for the CL500's and $250/hr labour to program it to the car at 2 hours!

The part number is valid for all Comand 2 and Comand 2.5 systems. The W230 has no reference whatsoever to any limitation within these types of car that have either comand.
