My little boy has just loaded 2 cds into the comand unit of my wifes C-class. The Comand unit now says "no disc inserted" and wont eject the discs.

I guess this means a replacement cd player unless the unit has not been damaged (one lives in hope).

Can anyone offer hope, or let me know what is the cost of replacing the cd player.

I am assuming that only the cd player will require replacement and that the rest of the Comand unit will still work.

With the comand out of the car, the hinged top arm can be lifted and they will come out. I do not think that you have done any damage, its a common thing in the domestic world.

This can be fixed very easily but you will have to remove the comand unit to do it. You shouldnt have done any serious damage.

Thanks to everyone for the words of comfort. My local specialist has removed the Comand unit and been able to remove the cds. However, it does look as though some damage has been done to the cd player. He is going to check to see if it can be repaired.

Does anyone know the replacement cost so that I can bill my sons pocket money?
