Hi, I've had a 2012 C250, the bluetooth has integrated with my iPhone really well, though can't switch playlists on the iPhone. When I get in the car it just starts playing my playlist. The phone function is fine though clunky to find a contact.
I'm going to be buying a 2008/2009 SL, with comand.

How do I know what version of comand the car has, is there potential to upgrade the software, and how likely is it to integrate with my iPhone for music?

I'm grateful for any pointers as I really have no idea about this!

I do not think there will be any problems, we have some members with some late SL

I have a 2009 SL , don't have an iPhone , I am an android , if nobody else comments I can try it with the wife's iPhone though and let you know. Tbh I stuck all my songs on a DVD and stick that in...saved faffing about with phones for my music...

Ok I can pair the phone ok...I can't see how you pay the music via Bluetooth from iTunes on the phone through the Comand system though. It doesn't show the phone as an audio input.

I think you may need the actual ipod/iPhone connector cable then it should work as normal. If someone else knows how Bluetooth music might work then please let me know...

I have spotify as well but you need a cable to stream it... either the ipod one or 3.5'mm audio Jack

Model year 2009 cars have the newer Comand NTg 2.5 which is a lot nicer to use than the NTG1 system. Plus its a lot easier to add media input to. Most will come with it though. Id avoid a 2008 car if you can just because 2009 version is so much better.

Streaming can be achieved via the media interface but it requires the media interface plus device which is around £270. The tune2air doesnt work for streaming from a lot of non apple devices.
