Hi, I have a clk 55 AMG W208 with Comand (no TV tuner). The radio reception is poor, FM is just OK in good reception areas but AM just crackles. In the engineering menu (AUX mute + 1 + 3) then tuner the signal strength on FM never gets above 3. If I turn off the rear amps with the # button it drops to 0 so something is working.
I removed the left C panel and checked all the connections and did a close inspection of the rear window strips. I ran a long wire over the roof and plugged it into the connection to the lower amp but still no AM. Connected the long wire to the AM input to the upper amp but no improvement.
The stealer wants £95 + VAT for the lower amp and it needs to come from Germany.
Any suggestions appreciated - upper or lower amp?
What a pig getting the c panel back, some of the clip slots face forward and some back - broke 6 to date!
