Comand Re-set?

Ive got problems, Taken the comand unit out of my 2000 model 210 E320CDI to put a new rubber control knob on the front, to do this i had to split the front panel from the main body fitted it all back together and it will not work right now, no control from the steering wheel, and controls on comand unit not controlling it properly, anybody any ideas please cheers Dave

Yep. You have left off the ribbon cable between the PCB and screen.

Alfie, May have misslead you, the comand will turn onby pressing some of the buttons on the left of the unit and the screen works, comes up merc then will play radio and cds but no control and will not turn off with top button many thanks Dave

Okay, did you check the row of about 10 brass pins that connect from the pcb to the internals?

I'm sure this is just a connectivity issue. I've changed buttons myself a few times and it is tricky getting all the keys, rubber seals and connections back in place.

Sorted Alfie! Thanks very much for your help, I took the comand apart again and just made sure all pins and buttons were in place, could not actually see anything wrong but put it back together and bingo all working, happy again now, cheers Dave
