COMAND Software Upgrade (S-Class)

Whilst at the dealers recently, my SATNAV software was upgraded to the latest version. However, the dealer can't tell me what the upgrade provides! I can see 'DX' on the start display, and I seem to be able now to set a destination using Lat and Long fix position.

Does anyone know what this upgrade is all about, and what has been changed and why?

Satnav upgrade

The satnav upgrade that is done upgrades the firmware of the system.

Some of the firmware may be for the upcoming TMC (Traffic Message Channel) for upto the minute traffic news.

Other things are upgraded due to problems fedback to MB technical.

The firmware is the operating system of the unit. Similar to Windows for your PC.
