Just taken delivery of 2006 (06) E320CDi (V6 new engine). It is absolutely fantastic, except my COMAND DVD is version 4.1, TMC does not work, M6 Toll does not exist.

I have been to my dealer and been told that there is a new DVD - V5.0, and that they will check to see if my COMAND is compatible with it. So I am just being a little impatient (they can't do any thing till monday).

Does anyone know if this should be supported, and if not is there a software upgrade to the COMAND system to allow v5.0 disks.

Also my COMAND has got Bluetooth option. I have telephone prewire. Does this allow me any other advantage.

Thanks,

I sold my E class on 3rd January and it was running v4.1 software. There has been a fair few posts on here about latest software versions so it's probably worth a search through. It also seems that the story varies from dealer to dealer!

On the subject of TMC I am awaiting a response from DCUK as to when this will be available given that it has been promised for well over a year now.

I have never been able to get the bluetooth setting to work on my previous or our current cars so would also be interested if anyone else has got ideas. I asked at the dealer and they had no clue either.

There is no bluetooth function for mobile phones on comand or will there ever be.You can only connect to a bluetooth headset for privacy. The Bluetooth function will olso allow connection to PDA's etc.
Whats the point for the phone to be connected via bluetooth to the comand in your pocket when you can slip it into the cars phone cradle?

I've just had an Audi A6 on test with bluetooth wiring and the good thing was I could use the phone wiring without having to have the appropriate cradle - not much of a problem for the main driver (apart from the £130 each time you change your phone) but if others, say work colleagues, borrow it, then Bluetooth will mean they can use the handsfree function.

Agree there's not much in it though.

I assumed all new e-class COMAND systems had TMC - is this not the case?

MB does not have a cradle to fit any Blackberry phones so Blackberry users have no choice but to fit a non-MB bluetooth system. It is absurd that MB do not cater for one of the most popular business phones
