Thanks Roofless, unfortunately doesnt work on my ML (W164) COMAND APS!

Must have changed the software as the guide was written in 2006 but doesnt mention the ML though, would have thought the units to be all the same!

The pictures look identical to mine (I dont have the later model which has the screen which comes forward wth 2 drive slots behind or the SD card slot). Its a DVD based COMAND APS with rear seat DVD screens, other than that, have no info to exact model, just called COMAND APS in user manual.

Would like to see Rear DVD on the front screen as well, but probably that feature wont be allowed!! Really annoying when your passengers are sat in the back, watching Wallace and Grommit, sound coming through the Harmon Kardon and your having to drive!!!!!! Seems silly when waiting for people to have to sit in the back to watch a DVD as well! Looks like Mercedes ran short of a brain cell when they specced the unit, can understand disabling the front screen whilst driving for legal and safety reasons, but not when stationary.

Those hidden features were disabled around about the time V6.2 (A/B/C/CLK/ML/R/GL) of the navigation S/W came out. On an E class it was around the time of V5.1.

Unless you are happy running a very out of date navigation S/W that article is a waste of time.
