comand unlocking

have reading several threads re dvd unlocking on comand systems....it seems that 'newer' comands (mine is a 2006 CLS) can only be done with an external module....
any new info regards this.... any one in the east midlands who can do this?

As far as I'm aware the external module is the TV decoder, everything for the DVD is already built in. Although Coamnd can be unlocked to enable you to see the DVD picture whilst driving Mercedes will not do it and the Police take a dim view of it.
Your Comand is the same as mine, I tried the newer one in the latest 08 CLS and I didn't like it anything like as much. No soft keys around the outside which made it difficult to navigate around the system.

If you mean unlocking the video in motion, then yes it can be done. We are often asked to do this for customers and whilst we can very easily do it with STAR we wont. It is illegal and may lead to the death of someone.

I once took a journey in an S class in Prague which had video in motion enabled. The driver was very distracted most of the time. I wouldnt go in a car again that had it visible whilst driving.
