I have the DVD based COMAND system. The DVD that came with the car (an 05 E class estate) was published in 2004. Does anyone know whether a new version of the DVD will result in better sat nav graphics and functionality or do I just get updated maps?

Thanks in advance.

Update to version 6.3 or greater and and get TMC information as well as updated maps. Graphics are similar.

You probably have version 2 or 3 or thereabouts if its the original supplied with the car when new.

Worth the cost of upgrade.

Get it from Alfie and save yourself a few bob over the MB cost.

I have ended up with two of these (bought one when I was planning my upgrade then got one supplied with my nav unit).

I'm looking to sell one of them (much cheaper than new :)), PM me if you are interested.

Tried PMing you but can't find the pm button??!!

What version do you have, I am interested in upgrading mine. Is it for the E class?

Yes, for some reason they don't have PMs on this board but if you click on my name in the top left of this post it takes you to a page where there is a link to email me.

It's the latest DVD version, v7 (2007/8 ), part number A211 827 10 65

Don't get confused with the CD version for some MB cars that is now up to version 9.

PM link is at the top right hand side of this page.............where it says "Private Messages" underlined in blue.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't for me :(

I've looked through the user control panel too and can't find anything to enable it. Maybe you have to make a certain number of posts first.

D'OH! or is it D'UH! .... ?

It is on the top right corner. Then when you get into the PM page 'send pm' is on the left side on the screen. It must have changed because I remember earlier on (in the 'old' days)you just had to click on the user to send a pm.

Thanks.
