Hi all, small problem with my Comand, despite setting the volume difference, the radio volume does not decrease during navigation voice output. I think it must be something I have changed as it used to operate correctly. Any ideas?
Thanks
Paul.

In your command menu you can change the difference between voice output during destination guidance and the active sound source

Is it best to do a factory reset, it will put it into german but the first line to go back to English is Sprache, then select English and try again

Hi Malcolm, tried the factory reset to no avail, I cannot understand it as it used to lower the audio source during Navi voice output, must be somthing I am doing or not doing.

Okay, what happens when you raise the volume during a spoken instruction? does the audio stay at its desired level and the voice increase in volume or does the audio and the voice increase?

"Alfie"... *polishes lamp*

Oh, as for the problem, when the rather polite but stern woman gives her commands (the COMAND voice not your wife...) turn the volume up while she speaks. It should increase a lot. Sounds like you've got something set wrong.

Hi Alfie, I can control the volume of the Navi voice output from the rotary knob or steering wheel controls during voice output and the audio source stays at the set level ie does not increase with voice output volume.
Paul.

Okay, so if you have the audio at the desired level and the voice output at the same level is there definately no reduction of the audio when the voice cuts in?

If so, then you should try a factory reset from the diagnostics menu ( press Fm, then press MUTE 1 & 3 hold for 10secs) If this does not fix it, then you will need a full reset which involves taking the comand out, unplugging the comand, removing the fuse on the back and waiting 30 minutes. Reassemble. If it still isnt fixed, then you have a fault with the comand unit!

Remember to re-calibrate the navigation with your location and tyre size when you switch the comand back on after the unplugging!.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi Alfie, have done the reset and all seems to be well, not sure why it decided to play up but that seems to have cured it. Thanks for your help (again!)

It is all no different to home electronics like when a digi box may one day have no sound when you turn it on,unplugging it re sets it and away you go until the next time.

Depending upon your version of Comand you can set if the audio drops when the navigation announcement is made and also by how much (if any) it drops.
