Command NTG 2.5 MMI issue

Evening folks,

Long term lurker here.

I currently have a 2010 W219 CLS. It has the NTG 2.5 system with the MMI port in the glovebox.
I have a mercedes cable connected to it with the USB connection on it. This runs fine with any music i have on my USB stick.

I have purchased an aftermarket cable to connect to the MMI to give me a 3.5mm aux input, but no matter what i connect via the 3.5mm wont play.

Is there anything i need to enable to make this work? Or possibly a duff cable?

You need to select “Aux” on your Comand system when using a 3.5mm socket cable into the media interface...
Took me awhile to work it out on my SLK when it wasn’t working.
