have a search on the forum for Alfie and PM him. His company fits them and he has posted several warnings about buying command units from eBay.

The units basically swap over though I don't know exactly how. As you have the Audio50 you already have all the necessary kit such as the Audio gateway and GPS sensor so it should be very straight forward.

I'd agree with this.

Personally, I have never worked on a W211 as we dont offer comand retro fits for them.

I suspect though its much the same as the W203 trim removal. Start by removing the gear knob surround, then the trim around that lifts out as its held by clips. This gives access to the ashtray which un clips and comes out. this then gives access to the centre trim screws which are probably torx 20.

This may help or may be completely wrong. I will fire up WIS later and have a proper loook.

hi all, fitted the comand unit today, took about an hour, very easy really.BUT there is no gps socket on the back on the comand unit,i assumed that the conections would all be there, but they are not,i now need a dvd sat nav drive which fits in the boot,i SHOULD be able to just plug this in,all the connections seem to be there, but im not 100% sure,so question time, have i bought the wrong comand unit or do they all need a seperate dvd drive for the sat nav, also there is a little semi square conector on the back of the comand unit, does anybody know what that is for, everything else works,cd,dvd, tuner, mpeg, telephone,so im at a bit off a loss.
