Help Please Re:Command System

HELP PLEASE
Ok I have a 2001 C230k Coupe which has developed some faults.
1. The BAS light has come on and stays on (Have asked this question on another post and received some replies which I will try)
2. The command system has a fault, whenever I select navigation it displays cannot read disc or no disc inserted, also will not always eject, also will not play a music cd (Autochanger works fine)

I have tried a cd cleaner which has made no difference although it displays no disc there is no sound and disc cleaner when used on a cd player will normally play some music (I presume to show that it is working)

 Now in my infinite wisdom thinking it may work I have done a factory reset which has made no difference to the sat nav but has set everything to German and there is no option that I can find in system settings to go back to english the option that I think may be it is greyed out.

I have managed to get into the command menu and looked at the error log which does show a page and a half of errors (Just numbers) is there any way of clearing this and would this help.

Do Command.Com repair systems or can I talk with them to see if they can help?

Finally just to say I am running the 2006 official TeleAtlas disc with TM

Sorry for long post, but hope someone can advise (Hope this is not the start of all the control units etc starting to fail)

sorry to say but common fault on that early command, we just replace them but im sure some companys out there would fix them!!! i know some one on here will give you a link to get it fixed!!! as for the bas light that could be quite a few things causing that, from brake light switch to rpm sensor to control unit, you need some fault codes!!

Thanks for reply, will try and get fault codes, just to update I have now managed to change language back to english by trial & error, for other users info you have to scroll thru the instrument cluster languages and reset to english, then the option on the command is not greyed out allowing you to then change the language beck to UK.

Press SYS
Select Einstellungen
Select sprache
Select English Imperial

Done.
