Command unit cd changer not working.

The CD changer in my 2009 E350 cdi coupe no longer works. It was never reliable from new. The problem is that you can't update the Sat Nav without it. Can anyone recommend a company that will both remove and repair the unit? I live in SE London/Kent.

unreliable with bought discs or just home made (burnt) discs?

the material used for the disc has a big impact on how older drives cope....

if one is making a disc for the nav Mercedes only works with one type of DVD. I forget which DVD - R or DVD + R the other won't read at all.

I did find a guy on Ebay a few years back that would repair the units - but he wouldn't remove them.

In the end I just left it, but my sat-nav isn't affected by the cd changer. Might be worth searching on Ebay for a repairer?
