Confirmation of build date from Mercedes for Historic tax

Hi,

As club members, are we able to get confirmation from Mercedes of the build date that we can send to the DVLA to change the taxation class?

My local dealer has confirmed my 1982 registered 500 SL was built in November 1981, so a letter to that effect from Mercedes would be enough for the DVLA to change the tax class to Historic.

Should be easy to find the real build date . I was lucky my cars build date is printed on the bill of sale that was given to me off the original owner .Just built 12 months before it was sold , and first taxed .
