Confused if size of tyre is suitable?

Please can you tell me if it would be OK to fit 16" 225 x 55 tyres to my car a E230 (210). The handbook does not specify this size?

stick to 15inch factory rims! the extra rolling resistance will just drop fuel economy, plus cost of tyres! and the spare! just my experience!

if you wish to upgrade to 16" then merc advise you to fit 215/55/R16/V. following the handbook does also help...

i forgot that some of the210s were on 15" wheels.

when did the standard become 16"

I think that it depends on the model.
My E320 and subsequent E430 Avantgarde both came with 16" rims.
