Confusing Light malfunction error ( Newbie )

Ok so I am now the proud owner of a C200K ( 2000 X Reg ) and have my very first thing to sort out... thought it would be an easy one but here goes.... Getting a Tail light ( L ) error... substitute light being used... only thing is all the lights look ok to me and are working fine.. any ideas.

The lamp out detector is or can be rather sensistive and is probably detecting that the lamp is not drawing sufficient current, change the blub (for a decent quality one) and check the bulb holder and any easy to access nearby connectors for corrrosion/dirt. It is not an uncommon fault, on older models the contacts at the bulb get shoddy with traces of white (zinc?) corrosion on them.

Cheers for that wireman... ill have a look in 5 mins and call for another bulb too ( going on lunch ).

Sorted, dont know what it was... just cleaned contacts and put a new bulb in so thanks for that !!!
